Betty Rae Freeman-Howerton, 69, of Cassville, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, in her home.

She was born Oct. 27, 1943, in Bassett, Neb., the daughter of Theodore Fredrick Albert and Velma Dot (Long) Neeman. On May, 19, 2007, she was united in marriage to Willis Howerton, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Clark Freeman, Jr.; one granddaughter; four brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include: two sons, Jerry Clayton and his fiancÚ, Crystal Forrester, of Cassville, and Ernest Freeman and his wife, Michelle, of Pierce City; two daughters, Louise Fields and her husband, Mel, of Fremont, Neb., and Teresa Freeman, of Grand Island, Neb.; two sisters, Velma Dot Underwood, of Gothenburg, Neb., and Dolly Neeman, of Wyoming; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She grew up and received her education in Shelton, Neb. She was a long-time waitress in Nebraska. In 2002, she moved to Cassville to make her home. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Contributions may be made to Cassville Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in her memory.
