Jackie Lee Stanphill, 80, of Pierce City, died on Friday, April 5, 2013, at his home. Jack Stanphill was born in Butterfield, on June 14, 1932. He was the son of Charles A. and Maude (Colburn) Stanphill. He married Thelma Hemphill on July 29, 1951, and she preceded him in death in February 1995. He was also preceded in death by his infant daughter, Linda.

He graduated from Monett Junior College in 1952. He owned and operated Stanphill Sanitation Services until he retired in 2004. He was a well known teacher; retiring from Pierce City School District in 1985.

Survivors include: two sons, Gary and Jerry Stanphill, both of Pierce City; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City on Tuesday with Brother Jimmie Copley officiating. Burial followed at Sparks Cemetery near Butterfield.
