Technological advances make property searches easier

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

Craig Williams, Barry County Circuit Clerk and Recorder of Deeds, reports new technological advances in operations at the Recorder's Office.

"This new technology not only allows for a more streamlined process for recording documents in the office, but also enables the general public to search real property records online. The system allows the user to search and review Grantor/Grantee or Seller/Buyer indexes," Williams said. "If the user wants to view or print documents, they may purchase either a one-day use, or a monthly subscription from the site, which will allow them to print documents at the cost of $1.00 per page."

The service can be accessed online through the Barry County Circuit Clerk/

Recorder website at www.barrycountyccrd.com.

Also available is a free service called "Property Check." It allows Barry County property owners to receive notification, either by e-mail or text, when a document with their name is recorded in the Barry County Recorder's Office.

Visit the Barry County Recorder website and follow the "Property Check" link for more details and to

register for the free service.

Other links allow visitors to the website access to case.net, child support payment information, the court calendar, a court fee schedule, court rules and attire, forms and other pertinent information.

"The website is very user friendly," Williams said. "The Recorder's Office is very pleased to be able to provide these new services to the residents of Barry County."

The new services are made available by the Recorder's Office in partnership with Cott Systems Information Management Solutions.

Cott Systems, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, serves 246 land and court customers across 19 states and has been an innovator in public records management for over 124 years.
