On March 8, Southwest High School FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and NHS (National Honor Society) members held an appreciation dinner and show for local volunteer firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMT), resuce workers and their families. Over 100 guests attended the event and enjoyed a dinner of pulled pork, baked potatoes, green beans, salad, cheesecake and rolls. While guests were eating, NHS and FCA members sang a special song and drawings were held for four prizes. Winners included: Jimmy Cotton, fishing pole; Josh Hammers, $15 gift card; Johnathan Wolf, firefighter's necklace; and Jason Roller, Longhorn Steakhouse gift card. Magician and comedian Marty Hahne, who is a former volunteer EMT, offered after dinner entertainment. Sponsors for the event were: Ball and Prier Tire; Freedom Bank; Shumaker Tire; Ramey; B and P Grocery; Cassville Florist; People's Community Bank; Designs by Debbie; Southwest High School FCCLA; Jessica Mitchell; and Kountry Kitchen Katering.
