Wheaton sets dates for city sale, clean-up

During their regular March meeting, Wheaton City Council members set the city-wide garage sale for Saturday, May 4.

The city-wide clean up will take place two weeks later, on Saturday, May 18, at the rodeo grounds.

Aldermen approved a payment of $80 to Tri State Engineering a phone line installed as part of the water project.

Jerry McBride, water superintendent, reported the water tower behind city hall is in need of cleaning and aldermen approved Cunningham Sandblasting for the project.

Bob Lombard, Wheaton fire chief, requested the department's telephone landline be discontinued since all calls are sent directly to firefighter's cell phones. The subject was tabled until further investigation into regulations and changes to posted signs can be conducted.
