PHS Spanish club members compete at conference

Four Purdy High School Spanish club members competed at the annual Ozarks Hispanic Studies League Conference held in Strafford on March 2. Thaddaeus Harris, Cynthia Salas and Oscar Salas took first place in the culture bowl. Cynthia Salas took first in native speaking poetry. Jesus Perez placed second and Oscar Salas took third. Harris took third in first year poetry, and the duet of Oscar Salas and Harris took third in the singing competition. Purdy High School took second place for the year in the conference of seven schools. The League consists of six schools, including Purdy, Central High School in Springfield, Ash Grove, Strafford, Bolivar and Greenwood Lab School.
