A mutual agreement has been reached between Freedom Bank of Southern Missouri and Community Bank of Shell Knob and Golden that will allow Freedom Bank to purchase the assets and deposits of Community Bank.

The transfer is scheduled to take place at the close of business on Friday, April 5. The Shell Knob and Golden locations will reopen as Freedom Bank branches on Monday, April 8.

Stan Kelley, Freedom Bank chief executive officer (CEO), has announced that Rusty Newman will serve as the president of the Shell Knob and Golden locations. Newman, who graduated from Cassville High School in 2000, has seven years of experience in loan and operations services at Freedom Bank.

Founded in 1999, Freedom Bank of Southern Missouri is locally owned. The addition of the Shell Knob and Golden locations will allow the bank to serve customers at five banking facilities across southern Missouri. Headquartered in Cassville, the bank also has branches in Seligman and Willard.

Freedom Bank offers a wide variety of products and services with competitive rates on both loans and deposits.
