Sunday worship services to begin at RRSP

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

The Barry County Southern Baptist Association will begin Sunday worship services at the Roaring River State Park amphitheater on Sunday, March 31, which is Easter Sunday.

Roaring River Campers' Church will be offered at the amphitheater from 9 to 9:30 a.m. each Sunday from March 31 through Sept. 1. Services will include music and a message from the Bible.

The association began holding church services for campers at the park in 1978. The highest attendance was in 2012 when 68 campers attended services. Average attendance is from 30 to 40 people.

"The campers come as they are," said Randy Comer, director of missions. "Fish and an occasional dog visit as well. Anyone in or around the park is welcome to join us every Sunday."

In the event of inclement weather, services are moved to the basement of the Roaring River Lodge.
