Wednesday, March 20, 2013

Life Line Screening services will be offered at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville on Thursday, March 28. The event is sponsored by CoxHealth.

Life Line Screening uses painless ultrasound, or sonogram, to view the plaque build-up in arteries, which is the leading cause of stroke. According to the screening service provider, with early detection, 80 percent of strokes can be prevented.

Life Line Screening has screened over seven million individuals and partnered with hospitals across the country. The following services are offered: stroke or carotid artery screening, $60; heart rhythm screening or atrial fibrillation, $60; abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, $60; peripheral arterial disease screening, $60; and osteoporosis risk assessment, $35.

Participants can choose to receive individual screenings or take advantage of all five screenings at a reduced price of $159. Screening results are available to participants within 21 days.
