Robert Len "Bob" Hunter, 73, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013.

He was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Crane.

Survivors include: his wife of 45 years, Janet Simmons Hunter; his two daughters, Susan Lynne McWilliams and her husband, Mike, of Mountain Home, Ark., and Teri Anne Hunter, of Republic; and his mother-in-law, Elaine Skogman.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Dorothy Sasse Hunter, and his brother, Gene Hunter.

He grew up in Crane, where he graduated from Crane High School in 1957. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving for 10 years. He then worked for Pav Chemical Company and later Clark Grave Vault Company. For many years, he worked with his brother, Gene, at Marshfield Casket Company and then became a salesman for Artco Casket Company, where he was currently employed. For 29 years, he was the announcer for the Aurora Houn' Dawg football and basketball games.

He was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church where funeral services were held Saturday under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Kathy Osiel and Brother Lee Miller conducted the services. A private burial with military honors was held at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
