Emma Jo Privett, 83, of Butterfield, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, in Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born July 28, 1929, in Blackwell, Okla., the daughter of Joseph and Edna (Elemquist) Shoemaker. On July 1, 1951, in Cassville, she was united in marriage to Donald D. Privett, who preceded her in death on March 11, 1970. Also preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters and three half-sisters.

Survivors include: one son, Larry Privett and his wife, Patricia, of Butterfield; one daughter, Sharon Skelton and her husband, Bill, of Cassville; one sister, Erma Ruth Rose and her husband, Richard, of Carthage; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She grew up and received her education at Blackwell, Okla. For 28 years, she was employed as a food service supervisor for South Barry County Hospital (now Mercy Hospital Cassville), from which she retired. She was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Monett, a former member of South Barry County Ambulance Board and had served on the Butterfield City Council.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Orville Wiseman will conduct the services. Burial will be at Muncie Chapel Cemetery, Wheaton.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
