Linda L. Mattingly, 68, of Exeter, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, in Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 9, 1944, in Wayne, the daughter of John and Dafner Lee (Martin) Box. On Sept. 1, 1963, in Exeter, she was united in marriage to David Leon Mattingly, who preceded her in death on March 2, 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one sister and one brother.

Survivors include: three sons, Sammy Mattingly and Hope Dean of Exeter, Kevin Mattingly and his wife, Jane, of Gadsden, Ala., and Jonny Mattingly and his wife, Amanda, of Exeter; one sister, Loretta Ellis, of Prairie Grove, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She grew up at Exeter and graduated from Exeter High School. For 25 years, she was employed as an inspector with Justin Boot Factory from which she retired. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Washburn.

Graveside services were held Saturday at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Lawrence Shuey conducted the services.
