Area athletes earn Ozark 7 post-season basketball awards

Democrat Photo by Jared Lankford Wheaton senior standout Jory Bartkoski earned first team honors on the Ozark 7 All-Conference basketball team.

The Southwest Trojans and Lady Trojans, both champions of the Ozark 7 Conference, landed 10 athletes on the All-Conference basketball teams announced last week.

James Pettit, a Southwest senior, was named Player of the Year for the boys' division. Michaela Mitchell, also a Southwest senior, earned Player of the Year honors in the girls' division.

Southwest's Jess Ross and Brad Phillips, both in their first seasons as head coaches at Southwest and both undefeated in conference play, were named Coach of the Year, respectively, in their divisions.

Exeter's Kong Lee and Wheaton's Jory Bartkoski earned were first team honorees on the boys team.

Purdy's Cameron Terry, Katie Hughes and Mattie White gather first team awards for the black and yellow.
