The Wheaton Historical Society and the Wheaton Depot Museum received a very special gift on Feb. 9. Neal Vineyard, formerly of Wheaton, who has established himself as a well known artist in the Hot Springs, Ark., area, presented Ralph Lamberson with a framed pastel of the Wheaton Depot Museum during the annual Valentine Sweetheart Dinner earlier this month. Vineyard first expressed interest in doing a painting of the depot during a visit to Wheaton last summer. At that time, he asked for a photo of the building that was taken during the 1920s. The project was not mentioned again until Vineyard and his wife, Karen, made the trip to Wheaton from Hot Springs to present the beautiful pastel of the historical Wheaton facility to the society. The framed art will remain on permanent display at the museum.
