School record 19 3-pointers carry Southwest

"Unconscious" is the best way to describe the shooting clinic the Southwest Trojans put on during their 82-57 victory over Verona on Feb. 14

The Trojans' 19 triples set the school record for 3-pointers that they set a week earlier when they buried 16 shot from beyond the arc.

The 19 treys is tied for fourth all-time in the state's history.

Southwest led 19-8 after one period and swelled the lead to 53-24 at halftime behind eight triples. The Trojans hit 11 long bombs in the first half.

Seven more triples connected in the fourth quarter as the black and red led 82-42 at the final break.

Scoring for Verona: Ascencion Estrada, 16 points; Tomas Estrada, 11; Seth Losack, 10; Seth Hilton, 7; Dre Sitton, 5; and Brent Downs, 3.

Scoring for Southwest: Jordan Eppling, 32 points; James Pettit, 17; Blake Barnes, 12; Brew Farrer, 9; Josh Cutberth, 6; Austin Ross, 5; Robbi Randall, 4; and Brad Daniels, 2.

Made 3-pointers for Southwest: Eppling, 6; Pettit, 5; Barnes, 4; Farrer, 3; and Ross, 1.
