Michael Thomas "Mike" Malousek, 64, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, in his home.

He was born June 22, 1948, in Wahoo, Neb., the son of John and Eleanor (Tvrdy) Malousek. On May 1, 1989, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Elizabeth (Forster) McManaman, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one daughter, Michelle Malousek, of Eagle, Neb.; three sons, Russell Malousek, of Eagle, Neb., and Kevin P. McManaman and Corey McManaman both of Lincoln, Neb.; five brothers, Raynold Malousek and his wife, Georgianne, of Wahoo, Neb., Leroy Malousek and his wife, Sharon, of Lincoln, Neb., James Malousek and his wife, Jean, of Weston, Neb., Dennis Malousek and his wife, Deb, of Raymond, Neb., and Bernard Malousek, of Lincoln, Neb.; one sister, Lucille Trojan, of Dwight, Neb.; and one grandson.

He grew up and received his education in Nebraska, graduating from high school in Weston, Neb. He received his bachelor's degree, with honors, from Doane College in Lincoln, Neb. From 1968 until 1970, he served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and received the bronze star, Army commendation medal and Distinguished Service Medal. He was employed as fiscal director for Lincoln Medical Education Foundation in Lincoln, Neb., for over 20 years. In 2001, he purchased Kings River Marina with his wife, Marilyn. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Shell Knob.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, Weston, Neb. Father Julius Tvrdy will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be in St. John Cemetery in Weston, Neb.

Arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
