Rebel Recycling offers new services
This year, Rebel Recycling added an e-recycling program to the list of services offered at its location on Highway 76/86 west of Cassville.
"This will be our seventh year in business in Barry County," said Mike Jeffcoat, Rebel Recycling owner. "Through the years, we have received so many calls from people who are looking to recycle, donate or just get rid of electronics, such as TVs and computers.
"We have now developed a program to accept electronics items," said Jeffcoat. "Customers can bring those items to us, and we will recycle them safely so that those items are not filling up landfills."
The new e-recycling program is offered at no cost. In addition to televisions and computers, accepted items include home stereo equipment, DVD and VHS players, cell phones, cell phone batteries, printers, fax machines, copiers, microwaves and other small electronic appliances.
"We do have a way to destroy computer hard drives," said Jeffcoat.
Rebel Recycling has also added a new free pick-up service for customers interested in disposing of large metal appliances or other bulky metal items.
"There are city wide clean-ups that accept bulky items, such as dishwashers, washers, dryers and even barbecue grills that residents want to get rid of," said Jeffcoat. "Of course, those events are only held once or twice a year. If residents will just call our office, we will arrange for someone to come out and remove those items anytime throughout the year.
"There are a lot of people who live in unincorporated areas of Barry County who could benefit from this service too," continued Jeffcoat. "We are more than happy to pick those items up in return for the material."
Jeffcoat said that most items can be picked up within two or three days.
Rebel Recycling also continues to deliver trailers to sites for one time clean-ups or weekly pick-up services. Trailers are available at no cost. Customers can also earn cash on the collected materials.
Rebel Recycling is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
