CHS speech team earns awards

The Cassville High School speech team competed at the inaugural McDonald County Groundhog Day Speech Tournament at McDonald County High School on Feb. 2. The CHS team advanced the following five competitors to the final rounds: Nate Marcano, children's storytelling; Sandra Campos, prose; and Kim Albert, Mike Martin and Chris Hinebaugh, original oratory. Macano, Albert, Martin and Campos all earned medals, and Hinebaugh placed first in the original oratory category. The team is coached by Steven Mann.
