Cassville city clerk resigns

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

Cassville City Clerk Noelle Harmon submitted her resignation to the Cassville City Council during an executive session on Jan. 31.

Mayor Bill Shiveley said that Harmon indicated that she wanted to pursue other options.

"By resigning my position as city clerk, I will be able to pursue a more active role within my husband's organization," said Harmon. "This will allow me the flexibility to visit him, as he works out of state, while still remaining a resident of the Cassville area.

"I want to thank the Cassville citizens for their support over the last 18 months," continued Harmon. "I have enjoyed working for you. I will still remain active in the community through the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce, Soroptimist International of Barry County and other organizations."

The resignation was effective immediately.

"We plan to fill the position as soon as we rewrite the position description and get it approved by council," said Shiveley. "The city clerk is hired or appointed by council and reports to council."

No vote was taken regarding Harmon's resignation.
