Grammar Made Glamorous

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

The Community Writing Program's Mike Hancock, adjunct professor of English at Southern New Hampshire University and published fiction writer, will teach Grammar Made Glamorous at the Holiday Island, Ark., Clubhouse from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19.

During the two-part workshop, Hancock will teach students how to add interest to business writing, power to letters to the editor and a blog that stands out on the Internet. Students will learn to use language properly and avoid grammatical errors.

Hancock will demonstrate how novelists, journalists and speech and marketing writers transform simple sentences into vibrant writing. He will use various types of media, art, photography and video clips to teach students how to recreate imagery through words.

The workshop cost is $45.
