Southwest alums assist in school history project

Eighth grade students at Southwest R-5 Middle School recently interviewed Southwest High School alumni for a school history research project. Students are creating a museum exhibit based on an assigned decade from Southwest's history for Linda Morgan's communication arts class. The exhibit will include newspaper articles, artifacts, photos, yearbook information and interviews. Vernie Morgan, pictured above, was being interviewed by class members as part of the project. Other participants included: Arlene Morgan, 1957; Sheri Epling, 1981; Kara Hendrix, 1986; Darrell Tilford, 1960s; Maggie Cornell, 2002; Ivy Flippo, 2001; Emily Cathcart, 2004; Alicia Singh, 2006; Jackie Burns, 1972; Peggy Murray, 1972; Jason Roller, 1990; JoNell Corn, 1975; Trevor Learned, 1992; Jerry Henry, 1989; Angela Long, 1992; and Tosha Watson, 1980s. Interviews were conducted in person or by telephone.
