The Cassville Education Fund will hold its next Trivia Night in the Cassville High School commons area at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 8.
The defending champions, the Commerce Bank Cash Cows, will compete against other teams to claim the Champions of Trivia title.
Trivia Night is a team competition. Team members discuss each question and agree upon one answer, which is written on their answer sheet.
The competition offers four rounds of trivia questions. Topics include: sports; history; geography; literature; pop culture; movies and music; food; and nature.
While scores for each round are tallied, team members have the option of participating in winner-take-all bonus point competitions.
At the end of the night, the team that has correctly answered the most questions and earned the most bonus points will be crowned the Champions of Trivia. In addition to earning bragging rights, the winners are awarded medals and their names are engraved on a traveling trophy.
Dessert and refreshments will be available throughout the evening.
Teams, which can include up to eight members, often include friends, church group members, co-workers, club members and individual trivia buffs. Individuals are assigned to a pick-up team on the night of the event.
The entry fee is $15 per player or $120 per team. Spectator admission is $5 per person.
Proceeds from Trivia Night benefit the Cassville Education Fund, a permanent endowment supporting academic programs at the Cassville School District. Grants from the interest on the fund are awarded for student-centered academic programs each spring.
For guaranteed placement in the competition, individuals and teams should pre-register at the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce office, located at 504 Main St., in Cassville or call the chamber at 847-2814.
