Agnes Eleanor Barrett, 88, of Cassville, passed away at her home on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013.
She was born in Carteret, N.J., on Aug. 22, 1924, the daughter of Feliks and Agnes (Adamski) Szymborski. She was united in marriage to Michael Raskulinecz and to this union two children were born. Michael preceded her in death Nov., 1967. On Feb. 10, 1973, in Avenol, N.J., she was united in marriage to John W. "Jack" Barrett, who preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1989. Also preceding her in death were her parents and seven brothers, Adam, Alexander, Joseph, John, Stanley, Charles and Henry, and one sister, Helen Aleszcczyk.
Survivors include: one son, Adrian Raskulinecz and his wife, Susan, of Lake Forest, Calif.; one daughter, Michele Leonard and her husband, Michael, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one stepson, Michael "Mickey" Barrett and his wife, Jean, of Absecon, N.J.; one stepdaughter, Linda Barrett, of New Jersey; two sisters, Bernice "Bunny" Carney and her husband, Richard "Sarge", and Pauline Kowaleski and her husband, Stanley "Stan", all of Cassville; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She grew up in Carteret, N.J., and graduated from Carteret High School. She worked for RCA for 20 years before retiring. In 1975, she and Jack moved to Cassville. For several years, she worked as a hostess at Roaring River Restaurant. She was active in her church, St. Edwards Catholic Church, PCCW (Parrish Council of Catholic Women) and volunteered at the food commodities. She was also a member of Silver Leaf Federated Club.
Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday at St. Edwards Catholic Church, Cassville, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. John S. Braun will conduct the services. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home.
