Lucille Brooks, 76, of Cassville, passed away on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. She was born on Jan. 30, 1936, in Cross Hollows, daughter of Orval and Goldie (Maloney) Lester. She was a 1953 graduate of Cassville High School. She was united in marriage to Royle Brooks on July 4, 1953, at the home of her parents in Cross Hollows. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She worked as a cook in several cafes, Headstart and Cassville Nursing Home.
Survivors include: her husband of 59 years, Royle, of Cassville; one son; Stanley Brooks, of Cassville, one daughter, Linda Crumpler and her husband, Rex, of Cassville; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Thomas, of Exeter; and one sister, Delphena Padgett, of Exeter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Brooks.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Blessing Heights Worship Center with Rev. Jack Freeman and Rev. Larry Henbest officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
