Harriet Alma Burnham, 78, of Shell Knob, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, in her home.

She was born July 6, 1934, in Aurora, the daughter of Harold and Frankie (Marion) Thurman. On Feb. 23, 1968, she was united in marriage to Claybern Junior "Clay" Burnham, who preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2002. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Kent Parsons; one brother, Rex Thurman; and one sister, Freida Hemphill.

Survivors include: two daughters, Adena Swearingen and her husband, Jim, of Douglas, Kan., and Denise Reid, of Shell Knob; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She grew up and received her education at Aurora. She was a homemaker, living in Wichita, Kan., and Augusta, Kan., for several years. In 1970, she moved to Shell Knob to make her home. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Chaplain Jack Betts will conduct the services.
