Jail accepts credit and debit

The Barry County Jail is now accepting credit or debit cards to purchase inmate phone cards or pay cash bonds.

"I believe that this will help those who pay for a cash bond easier and quicker," said Barry County Sheriff Mick Epperly. "This will especially be helpful if it is needed during the hours that a bank is not open."

Credit and debit transactions will be handled by GovPayNet. Individuals will be able to visit the business' website at www.GovPayNow.com or call 1-888-604-7888 to post a cash bond or purchase up to five inmate phone cards within a seven day period of time. Individuals can also pay at the jail.

GovPayNet accepts Mastercards, VISA, American Express, Discover and debit cards. A service fee will be charged for the transaction.
