The 84th annual Barry County Soils and Crops Conference will be held at the Butterfield Community Center from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29. Registration will begin at 6 p.m., and a free meal will be served at 6:15 p.m.
Speakers will include: Dona Goede, University of Missouri Extension livestock specialist, who will share information on timed artificial insemination; and Gregg Bailey, from Community National Bank in Aurora, who will talk about agriculture lending in today's economic climate.
Tim Schnakenberg, Extension agronomy specialist, will serve as moderator of a pasture forage systems panel discussion. The panel will include Charles Fletcher, Francis Washick, Jeff Kaal and Emil Rosewicz.
The long-running educational event is organized by Barry County University of Missouri Extension. It has provided county agricultural producers with research-based farming information since 1929.
The meeting and meal is co-sponsored by the Barry County Extension Council, the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce and area agribusinesses.
