Darrell Eugene Terry, 76, of Cassville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
He was born in Mason City, Grand Coulee, Wash., on April 7, 1936, the son of Merle E. and Freda (Hoover) Terry. On March 16, 1957, in Estacada, Ore., he was united in marriage to Corinne Chambers, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Keith Terry, of Kearney, Neb., and Jon Terry, of Lincoln, Neb.; one daughter, Darla Hutchinson and her husband, David, of Decatur, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He received his education in Hermiston, Ore. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country for 22 and a half years before retiring Sept. 1, 1975. He continued his working career by opening Terry's Mobile Tune-Up, which he operated for 21 years. He was a devoted member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was also very community minded serving as a member and officer of Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, volunteer for the Cassville Senior Center and The Gideons International.
Memorial services with full military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Milford Baker will conduct the services. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
