Neva Josephine (Wormington) Linebarger, 89, of Purdy, passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Cox Monett Hospital in Monett. She was born May 9, 1923 in Purdy, the daughter of the late Ellis and Goldie (Smith) Wormington. On June 24, 1944, she was united in marriage to Eugene Linebarger in Purdy, he preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1988.

She was a homemaker, wife and mother, a member of the First Baptist Church in Purdy where she taught Sunday school, and was a part of the Baptist Women's Union.

She is survived by: two sons, Gary Linebarger, Lewisville, Texas, and Dennis Linebarger, the Philippines; one daughter, Denise Ridenour, Monett; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, Ellis and Goldie, and husband, Eugene.

Visitation was held today (Wednesday) from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Purdy. funeral services were at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bill Banks officiating. Burial followed at the Purdy Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that a memorial be given to the Linebarger Ministries.

Arrangements were under the care of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.
