Arvilla Edith Meador, 90, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri.
She was born July 10, 1922, in Cassville, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur Oren and Edith Bell (Writer) Dilbeck. On February 15, 1942, she was united in marriage to Rolland Meador, who preceded her in death on May 22, 2001. Also preceding her in death were her parents and her son-in-law, Stephen Sweetland.
Surviving are: two sons, Geary Meador and his wife, Joyce, of Pittsburg, Kansas and Ron Meador and his wife, Linda, of Bolivar, Missouri; one daughter, Vana Sweetland of Blue Springs, Missouri; one brother, Floyd Dilbeck of Neosho, Missouri; two sisters, Irene Snyder and Norma Williamson, both of Cassville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Shannon, Kimberly and Brook and four great grandchildren, Mykah, MaKenzie, Avery and Hadleigh.
Arvilla grew up and received her education at Cassville, graduating from Cassville High School. She worked for her mother-in-law at the MFA Exchange and then joined her husband, Rolland, in the jewelry store, which they sold and retired. After her retirement, she worked for Jan Shore at Jan's Fashions Clothing Store, from which she retired a second time. She was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. Her favorite pastime was working in the yard and raising flowers. She loved to cook for her family.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri. Pastor Milford Baker conducted the services. Burial was at Mineral Springs Cemetery, Cassville.
