Two injured in area crash

Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26 on Highway C about two miles east of Purdy.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Jason A. Kramer, 22, of Aurora, traveled off the east side of the road and overturned, ejecting both the driver and passenger, Amanda Shelby, 25, of Aurora, through the sunroof.

Kramer and Shelby were both airlifted to Cox Hospital South in Springfield with serious injuries. Neither were wearing a seat belt.
