Seligman man withdraws candidacy

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

Roy Carrothers, who filed for a Seligman east ward alderman seat on the opening day of filing for the April 2013 election, has now elected to run for the position of mayor.

Last week, Carrothers withdrew his candidacy for the alderman seat and announced his intention to seek the seat currently held by Mayor Jason Raucstadt.

The current mayor, who has also filed for the upcoming spring election, will also be challenged by former Mayor Jerry Montgomery, who filed earlier this month. Raucstadt defeated Montgomery in April of 2012.

Other candidates who filed over the last week include: incumbent Donnie Powell, Wheaton mayor; incumbent Naomi Young, Wheaton west ward alderman; and incumbent Bobby Stephens, Southwest R-5 School Board.
