Barry County E-911 now offers website

Barry County E-911 now has an official website. Community members are encouraged to visit the site, which is located at

"It lists information about us and provides the public with many options with how to contact us," said Mike Phillips, Barry County E-911 director. "We are currently in the process of building it out and have been adding new features to it on a weekly basis.

"This has helped dispatch with receiving photos and other information via email that some outside agencies would not provide before in the past," added Phillips.

Previously, Barry County E-911 staff members utilized hotmail or yahoo email addresses. Many agencies throughout the state were hesitant to send information to the unofficial email addresses.

With the creation of the official website, which is administered by, staff members have official Barry County E-911 email addresses. For instance, Phillips can now be contacted at

"The website also shows how many calls we have processed and call volume on a quarterly basis," said Phillips. "We are hoping in the future to add a map for the citizens of the website and to have an employee section where employees can access leave forms, incident reports and other documents."

The Barry County E-911 website homepage features the agency's mission statement, address, office hours and telephone numbers.

A general information tab, offers information on Barry County E-911's history and a list of agencies that are served by the county's 911 operations center.

The website also offers additional contact information, including email addresses, a contact form, information on employment opportunities, a guestbook and a facts sheet.
