Health fair held a senior center

Cox Cassville Medical Care Associates sponsored a health fair at the Cassville Senior Center on Nov. 29. The health fair was well attended with 108 people receiving needed health screenings at a special reduced rate. Numerous vendors provided additional health information during the event. In 2009, Dr. Thomas Harris applied for and received a grant that focuses on expanding healthcare to rural residents through preventive care and education. Health fairs offered by CoxHealth are just one part of the grant program. Funding for health fairs and other projects are provided in part by the Missouri Foundation for Health, a philanthropic organization designed to improve the health of the people in the communities it serves.
