The Wheaton R-3 School Board approved the purchase of a new school minivan at its regularly scheduled meeting on Nov. 15. The expenditure cannot cost more than $21,600.
During the meeting, the board also voted to award the contract for food service to OPAA Food Service, which has served the district for the past few years, and purchase Christmas hams for all staff members.
The board awarded a $1,451 bid to Tyler Banks for bus #2. Michael Tichenor submitted a $700 bid and Michael Stephens submitted a $1,400 bid for the bus.
A $1,810.13 bid from Landon Brattin was accepted for bus #6. Mike Tichenor also submitted a $1,300 bid for the bus.
In other business, the Wheaton School Board:

* Reviewed the special education director's report.
* Heard the administrative reports.
During its meeting on Oct. 18, the board:
* Approved Jennifer Trent as the high school cheerleading sponsor.
