James O. Deiser, 80, of Cassville, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at PHBC Cassville Health and Rehab. He was born on April 18, 1932, in Richmond, Ind., son of Forrest and Alma (Berry) Deiser. He graduated from Richmond High School, and entered the armed service. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served from 1949 through 1953, during the battle of the Korean War. During his service time, he was shot five times and received several medals, including the Purple Heart and the Silver Star.
Survivors include: three sons, Forrest Deiser, of Bakersfield, Calif., and David Deiser and Jay Deiser, both of Cassville; two daughters, Alma Lee Phillips, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Katherine Workmen, of Ridgecrest, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Marcie Schumacher.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville.
