Austin Hancock scores 2 points during Purdy's game against Crane on Dec. 18.
The Eagles (5-3) trailed 22-10 at the end of the first period and 29-23 at halftime.
"I thought we played with great effort tonight," said Purdy coach Tommy Egan. "We got off to slow starts in both the first and third quarters."
Both teams played to a 14-14 draw in the third period, but the Pirates pulled away in the forth period outperforming the Eagles 22-12.
"We weren't able to make that final push in the fourth quarter," said Egan. "Crane is very tough and one of the best teams we will play all season. I feel this was the type of game that will make us a better team in the long run."
Scoring for Purdy: Keevin Walker, 14 points; Brent Cornman, 9; Tyler Scott, 7; Alex Mareth, 7; Glenn Scott and Austin Hancock, 6 each.
