Funds to benefit food pantry
The Helping Hands Food Pantry in Eagle Rock recently received a check from the Barry-Lawrence Thrivent Chapter to help offset costs associated with larger utility bills and an increase in clients. The Helping Hands Food Pantry Board raised $2,200 of the funds through donations from six local churches, several area community organizations and a fundraising booth at Eagle Rock Daze. The local Thrivent chapter, an investment program that reinvests profits in communities where Lutheran church members reside, provided a three-to-one grant match of $600 bringing the total to $2,800.
