Curtis A. Bacon, 89, of Cassville, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, in Ozarks Methodist Manor, Marionville.
He was born April 27, 1923, in Washburn, the son of Frederick and Artie S. (Hilburn) Bacon. On July 1, 1946, in Exeter, he was united in marriage to Helen Maloney, who preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 1993. Also preceding him in death were: his parents; one brother, Oscar Bacon; and one sister, Edith Edmondson.
Survivors include: one son, Charles Bacon and his wife, Joyce, of Marionville; two daughters, Shirley Flaxbeard and her husband, Jack, of Kearney, and Stella Baumann and her husband, Raymond, of Purdy; six grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren.
He grew up and received his education at Washburn where he graduated from high school. For several years, he was employed in maintenance at Justin Boot Factory. He was a member of Exeter First Baptist Church and a member of the 7-Valley Breakers CB Radio Club, known as "Dagwood."
Funeral services were held Sunday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Aaron Weibel conducted the services. Burial with military honors were at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
