SUPPORT GROUP: Anyone who is concerned about a friend's or loved one's drinking is invited to attend the Cassville Al-Anon Family Group, which meets at 8 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Cassville.

CLASS: The Cassville Senior Center will offer a paint class at 9 a.m.

SPECIAL EVENT: The City of Butterfield will hold its fourth annual soup and chili dinner with Santa at the Butterfield Community Building at 6 p.m. The event will offer face painting, crafts, coloring contests and an opportunity to visit with Santa and his elves.

FUN AND GAMES: The Cassville Senior Center will offer fun and games at 12:30 p.m.

FRIDAY COFFEE: The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly First Friday Coffee networking event at Design's by Debbie from 8 to 8:45 a.m. All chamber members are invited to attend.

MEETING: Barry County Retired School Personnel will meet at Happy House in Monett at 11 a.m. Attendees are asked to bring a nonperishable food item.


Saturday, Dec. 8

PARADE: The Washburn Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the sixth annual Washburn Christmas Parade at 11 a.m. The parade will travel from the Washburn First Baptist Church, along Main Street to the Southwest School.

SPECIAL EVENT: The Wheaton Christmas Craft and Food Fair will be held in the Wheaton City Park and Wheaton Community Building from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All area community members are invited to attend.

PARADE: The 2012 Seligman Christmas Parade will begin at the intersection of Highway 37 and Business 37 in Seligman at 2 p.m. The parade will travel south to the community center where Santa will distribute treats to youngsters.

OPEN HOUSE: The Wheaton Historical Society and Wheaton Depot Museum will hold its fifth annual open house from 2 to 8 p.m. All community members are invited to attend.

PARADE: The City of Wheaton's annual nighttime Christmas Parade will be held on Main Street in Wheaton at 6 p.m. Santa will visit with children at 3:30 p.m., and free food and hot chocolate will be offered in the park after the parade.

FUNDRAISER: Southwest High School Project Graduation will hold a Frito pie dinner and auction from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Admission is $2 per person. Proceeds will benefit the graduating class.

BENEFIT: A benefit fundraiser will be held for the family of David and Stacy Santos at the First Baptist Church of Washburn activity center from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Washburn family, who lost their home and all belongings in a fire on Nov. 22.
