The Cassville High School speech and debate team will host the annual Glenda Ward Memorial Speech Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013. This is an open invitational tournament for all levels of competition. Competitive events will include: combined extemporaneous speaking; improvisational duet acting; original oratory; prose reading; poetry reading; humorous interpretation; dramatic interpretation; radio speaking; children's storytelling; original pose; and duo interpretation. Along with the speech team, student members of the mask and gavel club will also work on the tournament. The overall success of the event and past tournaments have been due to the tremendous support of parents, teachers and members of the Cassville community. Individuals who would like to donate their time judging or make a donation to the hospitality room, which will be available for visiting coaches and judges, are asked to call head coach Steven Mann at 847-3137 or email him at smann@cassville.k12.mo.us.
