Former Exeter High School boys basketball coach Scott Thomas White, 41, who has been accused of having sex with a girl under the age of 14, was granted a change of venue when he appeared in Barry County Circuit Court for arraignment on Nov. 20. The case was transferred to Lawrence County.

According to a probable cause statement, Barry County Sheriff's Deputy Angela Cole observed an interview with a juvenile victim at the Children's Center in Monett on Nov. 22, 2011. During the interview, the juvenile stated that she and White had sex four separate times on Exeter School grounds between April and May of 2011.

In August, White was charged with four counts of statutory rape in the first degree for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years of age.

White will make his next appearance in Lawrence County Circuit Court on Jan. 14, 2013. He is being represented by Teresa Lynn Grantham, of Carver, Cantin and Grantham, LLC in Springfield.
