Jo Ann Swearingen, 77, of Rocky Comfort, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Cox Monett Hospital in Monett. She was born on May 12, 1935, daughter of Charles Killion and Evelyn (Payne) Killion in Rocky Comfort. She was a life-long resident of Rocky Comfort and graduated from Rocky Comfort High in 1953. She worked in her daughter's chiropractic office located in Cassville for several years. She was a member of the Rocky Comfort Church of Christ. She married Billy Swearingen on Aug. 29, 1953, and he survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Danny Swearingen and his wife, Renee, of Monett; two daughters, Carol Steinbach and her husband, Danny, of Big Cabin, Okla., and Dr. Kristy Montz-Goble and her husband, Carl, of Cassville; her mother, Evelyn Killion, of Rocky Comfort; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother.

Funeral services were held Saturday at White Funeral Home, Cassville, with Minister J.R. Burr officiating. Burial was at Dice Cemetery in Fairview. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and entrusted to the White Funeral Home, Cassville.
