Southwest FCA attends Summit conference

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

Southwest High School and Middle School Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) recently attended the FCA Summit, 4 Your Glory, at College of the Ozarks. Featured speakers included Shay Robbins, of Kannakuk Camps, Cindy Irwin, of Life by Design, Steve Grant, of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Ronnie Tipps, retired coach with 15 state titles. Worship was led by Brandon Bliss. Students broke up into 28 huddles, led by college students, and played several Minute to Win It-themed games. Male and female students were segregated into gender groups to hear purity messages given by Shay and Irwin. Purity talks were followed by huddle time so students could discuss what they had learned in smaller settings. Conference participants attended the Dixie Stampede pre-show for lunch and dinner show. The evening closed with worship, a message, an invitation and a last huddle session. Shay's last message was titles "Run," which was described as "life-changing" by Josh Cutberth, Southwest FCA president. Attending the event were: Khalib Jordan, Timothy Johns, Cassie Teal, Brianna Learned, Jerica Lawrence, Elizabeth Wolfe, Kendra Hayworth, Mike Banks, Brandon Beeson, Aaron Beeson, Anna Selee, Kenzie Bowlin, Lavonte Jackson, Brad Daniels, Cheristi Cline, Sean Waynick, Jessica Morgan, James, Petit, Justin Petit, Skyler Willer, Brianna Deason, Whitney Curry, Emmitt Musick, Sydney Delossantos, Jesse Baird, Montana Hendrix, Hayley Hendrix, and Cutberth.
