Hundreds of holiday gift shoe boxes were delivered to the Cassville First Baptist Church for the Samaritan's Purse's annual Operation Christmas Child shipment. FBC volunteers accepted the filled shoe boxes over the last few weeks. On Monday, 769 holiday gift boxes left the Cassville church for their journeys to children in Albania, Brazil, Colombia, Haiti, Kenya, Niger, Rwanda, Suriname, Togo and Uganda. Nearly a dozen area churches participated in this year's local collection efforts. Although the National Collection Week has ended, community members can send completed boxes year-round to: Operation Christmas Child, Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, 801 Bamboo Road, Boone, NC 28607 or build a box online at www.samaraitanpurse.orggiving/buildabox. Volunteers Earlene Gallagher and Mary Anne Deiser are pictured above.
