Chamber offers holiday activities

Wednesday, November 7, 2012

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce has released its list of holiday activities.

On Saturday, Nov. 10, local businesses will debut new Christmas items and kick off the holiday season with special offers during the annual Holiday Open House.

The annual Christmas Show will be performed at the Crowder College Cassville Campus Community Building on Thursday, Nov. 29 and Friday, Nov. 30. The HomeTown Sound and the RedHots will perform a mixture of traditional and contemporary holiday tunes during the holiday show.

Table and general admission tickets are now available. The chamber is also accepting sponsors for the holiday show. Sponsorship levels range from $25 to $100.

On Dec. 1, the chamber will host a $500 Christmas Cassville Cash Giveaway on the downtown square in Cassville from 3 to 5 p.m. Shoppers who make purchases during the event will be entered into the drawing for 10 $50 Cassville Cash certificates.

Christmas carolers will sing holiday music along Main Street during the shopping promotion. Music will continue as Mayor Bill Shiveley lights the Christmas decorations on the square at 5:30 p.m.

The annual Cassville Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m. The parade travels from the Cassville High School parking lot along Main Street to Clover Street.

The chamber will also once again hold its annual Holiday Lighting Contest this year. Judges will search for the best decorated houses from Dec. 1 through Dec. 10. To be considered for the contest, Christmas lights must be on from dusk to 10 p.m. each evening.
