Leroy "Arnold" Davison, 88, of Shell Knob, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at the home of his son, Eddie Davison, in Shell Knob. He was born on Jan. 1, 1924 on the family farm east of Braddyville, Iowa, to Homer Arnold and Maggie Dunn Davison.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego, Calif. He worked in the engine room on three ships, the USS Hamilton, the USS Nuthatch and the USS Pheasant.

In 1948, he married Leona Scroggs on Oct. 24 and recently celebrated 64 years of marriage. Leona currently lives in Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Villisca where she has resided since 2004. To this marriage four children were born.

Survivors include: Eddie Arnold Davison and his wife, Becky, Debra Ann Henneman and her husband, Brian, all of Shell Knob, John Rodney Davison, of Omaha, Neb., and Susan Deann Meyerle and her husband, Jerry, of Lincoln, Neb.; Five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, James "Irvin" Davison and Gary Lee Davison, all of Braddyville, Iowa; and one sister, Edna Ruth Thompson, of Hopkins.

He was involved with Rotary, Nodaway Valley Historical Museum, South Page School Board, Braddyville Christian Church Board of Directors, Farm Bureau, the United States Selective Service Board and other organizations.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one grandson, Jeremiah Davison; and one brother, Kenneth Davison.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Braddyville Christian Church, Braddyville, Iowa, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Gordon Green will conduct the services. Burial will be in Shear Cemetery, Braddyville, Iowa.
