Shell Knob man killed in Thursday crash

A Shell Knob man was killed in two-vehicle crash that occurred at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25 on Highway 13 approximately one mile south of Lampe.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, Kyle R. Mueller, 20, of Shell Knob, lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center line and struck a 2012 Subaru Outback, driven by Donna I. Rusterholz, 70, of Berryville, Ark.

Mueller was pronounced dead at the scene by Stone County Coroner Rick Stumpff. The body was taken to Stumpff Funeral Home in Kimberling City.

This is Troop D's 76th fatality for the year.

* A Springfield man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 on Highway 39, approximately four miles north of Jenkins. The crash occurred when the driver of a 1993 GMC pickup, Kevin M. Robertson, 20, of Nixa, drove off the left side of the roadway and overturned. A passenger in the vehicle, Bin Xia, 24, was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. Robertson was wearing a seat belt, Xia was not.
