Diane Thompson, 65, of Exeter, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at her home.

She was born on Aug. 1, 1947, to Herbert and Mary Williams Harris in Joplin. On Jan. 22, 1965, she married Dale W. Thompson, Sr., in Joplin. Both she and Dale attended Joplin Senior High School. They were franchise owners and operators of several Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurants for 18 years. They moved to Exeter in 2003 after having lived in several locations including Joplin, Springfield, Nixa, Shell Knob and Fort Smith, Ark. She is a member of College Heights Christian Church in Joplin.

Survivors include: her husband of 47 years, Dale; three sons, Dale W. Thompson, Jr., of Springfield, Darin Thompson and his wife, Laurie, of Brookline, and Dustin Thompson, of Exeter; four grandchildren; one brother, Paul Harris, of Florida; and two sisters, Connie Campbell, of Kansas City, and Michelle Baugh, of Galena, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dennis Harris.

a celebration of her life will be held at White Funeral Home, Cassville, on Saturday, Nov 3, at 2 p.m.

Instead of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made to the Jud Heald Grand Skatepark, in association with College Heights Christian Church, Joplin. Donations may be entrusted to the White Funeral Home, P.O. 890, Cassville, MO 65625
