Cassville softball players earn post-season awards

The Cassville softball team had a strong 2012 season and the Big 8 Conference coaches took notice of the Lady Wildcats' hard work.

Raeghan Blisard earned first team All-Conference honors as an outfielder. Blisard hit .404 for the Lady Wildcats this season with two homeruns, four triples, 11 RBIs and 28 runs scored.

Emily Speakman was named to the second team All-Conference squad as a first baseman. Speakman hit .326 with five homeruns, 21 runs scored and 31 RBIs for Cassville.

Kelsey Baker was named to the second team All-Conference team as an outfielder. Baker hit .404 with 12 RBIs and 28 runs scored.

Members of the Lady Wildcat squad were also named to the All-District team. Blisard and Speakman were named to the All-District first team as an outfielder and an infielder respectively. Taylor Wolf, Madison Jamieson and Katelyn Pitts were second team All-District selections. Wolf earned the honor as pitcher, Jamieson as catcher and Pitts as an outfielder.

Blisard was the lone Lady Wildcat to make the All-Region team. She was chosen to receive second team honors.
